Basis for the conversion is a refrigerator car of the company Rivarossi. The output model has the correct dimensions, but perhaps not detailed to the extent that such a perfectionist that likes might expect. It does not matter. My concern here is not 100% scale fidelity, but the crafting fun and therefore to equip the car with the clutch spring. sabroe A beautiful model is obtained anyway.
What do you need: Rivarossi refrigerator car (there sabroe are on stock exchanges or on ebay at prices between 20 and 40 euros) axes of Schnellenkamp (Part No.: 1622/Riva) backdrop clutch for spring with buffer beam of MOOG (Item No: 4056) shunting MOOG (Item No: 5800) The grab handles are made of staples For gluing I use the gap-filling Pattex stability sabroe
The car is already disassembled and the old buffer beams are removed cleanly. sabroe That goes with a sharp craft knife or mini blade. At the new buffer sabroe beams, with a guide, the brakeman are already soldered sabroe on.
In order to accent the door clearly, this field was painted black with airbrush color and the color on the surface and then removed with a cloth soaked with airbrush cleaner Q-Tip. In the edges and crevices the black color will now be maintained.
Here is the finished buffer beams. Also on display is a soldered sabroe lug on the buffer beam, which is used to fix the upper housing. Without these tabs can be the case after the removal of the cast-buffer beams forward and move backwards. sabroe Bonding, the alternative would have been for me came not in question.
With not too great expense to get a nice wagons with Lenz couplings. Free, there are some crafting fun and great feeling to have itself an appealing car rebuilt, a beautiful, unique piece that not everyone has to perform. And at a reasonable price.
